Tecno has announced several interesting smart lineups in 2023. Whether it’s their first foldable phone, the Tecno Phantom V Fold (first impressions), the launch of the Tecno Camon 20 Premier (Review) with an interesting design and a 108MP ultra-wide sensor, or the recently launched Pova 5 Pro with RGB LED lights on the back.
The company has now added another interesting product to its portfolio called the Tecno Phantom Ultimate. It’s a rollable smartphone that expands its display sideways to provide a large screen. However, it’s a concept device, which means it will not be available commercially. Here is everything we know about the Tecno Phantom Ultimate.
Tecno Phantom Ultimate Looks Amazing But You Cannot Buy It
We are not sure when rollable phones will be commercially available, but brands like OPPO and Motorola have showcased how they will look and feel. Tecno is another brand to join the club.
The Tecno Phantom Ultimate is a rollable phone that features a single drive motor system, which allows it to unfurl its display from 6.55 inches to 7.11 inches in just 1.3 seconds. The company states that it does not take much time to expand its display, unlike other concepts.
A YouTube video gives us a closer look at the Phantom Ultimate. The video showcases that the device will have a button at the top. Once pressed, the device will start rolling out its display from the left side. To return it to its original form, the user will need to perform a three-finger swipe gesture.
When rolled out, the phone boasts a 7.11-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,296 x 1,596 pixels and 388 PPI. The display is also said to offer a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. It is 9.93 mm thick, but the company states that it will be easy to hold in one hand.
The back of the phone will have an external display and a triple rear camera setup. It has a book-roll design on the back that is specially made to prevent accidental slips during extension.
The company states that the device will have advanced software to provide users with a rich experience on the Phantom Ultimate.
With Tecno participating at IFA Berlin 2023, it will not be surprising if the device is showcased at the event. After all, IFA is all about concepts and the latest technologies. This is the second concept device after the Tecno Phantom Vision V that gives us a preview of what the future of devices could be like.
