iPhone 16 series battery details leaked; iPhone 16 Plus tipped to have smaller battery than iPhone 15 Plus

Tech giant Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 16 series in September or October. Despite the official announcement still months away, various leaks and speculations about the upcoming series have already surfaced online.

After dummy images of the iPhone 16 models were leaked, details about the batteries for the iPhone 16 lineup have emerged online. This suggests that there could be a boost in the battery size for the iPhone 16 series models, except for the iPhone 16 Plus.

iPhone 16 series battery capacity details

Although the tech giant typically doesn’t disclose exact battery capacities, teardown videos have revealed that the iPhone 15 models had batteries ranging from 3,367mAh to 4,422mAh.

It is worth noting that last year’s iPhone 15 models featured rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, with the non-Pro models offering up to 26 hours of video playback time and the Pro models up to 29 hours on a single charge.

iPhone 16 series expected details

On the other hand, the recently leaked images of dummy units for the iPhone 16 series models have provided insights into their design and potential features. The new iPhones might have an Action button, a feature currently found only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Another addition is the likely Capture button, positioned on the right side of the phone, which will support gestures for zooming in and out. Furthermore, it’s anticipated that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be slightly larger than the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, with increases in display size.
