Asus 6Z gets a new update with expanded VoLTE, and VoWiFi support and March 2020 security patch

Taiwanese electronics giant and smartphone maker Asus has just rolled out a new update for its flagship Asus 6Z. In addition, the company also shared the changelog for the update providing us with a glimpse of new changes. It is worth noting that the smartphone is already running on Android 10. The company rolled out the Android 10 update about five months back, in November 2019. This new update focuses on bug fixes, some new features, and system optimization. The highlight of the update is likely to be the March 2020 Android security patch and expanded VoLTE and VoWiFi support. Let’s dig deeper into the changelog of the Asus 6Z update.

Asus 6Z update details

According to a report from XDA Developers, this new update brings the software build number to 17.1810.2003.144. In addition, Asus also brings VoWiFi support to Reliance Jio subscribers in the Indian market. Beyond this, the update also brings VoLTE and VoWiFi support for Tele2 telecom provider in Sweden. Asus also noted that this update comes with improved system stability. The update has also added a pop-up confirmation dialogue box when third-party apps request front camera access in the background. The incremental OTA (Over The Air) package amounts to just 94.44MB. Asus has also provided links for the full OTA installation file worth 1.9GB.

The company is rolling out this build to all Asus 6Z users across the globe. This includes all regional variants of the device including India, the European Union, Japan, and even the global variant.
