Audacious 4.0.4 Released – Install Audacious Music Player in Ubuntu Linux

How to install Audacious audio player in Ubuntu Linux. Audacious 4.0.4 is released with Qt5 UI Improvements and many fixes. Audacious audio player is a descendant of XMMS, Audacious plays your music how you want it, without stealing away your computer’s resources from other tasks.

Audacious users can:

  1. Drag and drop folders and individual song files, search for artists and albums in your entire music library, or create and edit your own custom playlists.
  2. Listen to CD’s or stream music from the Internet.
  3. Tweak the sound with the graphical equalizer or change the dynamic range with audio effects.
  4. Enjoy the modern Qt-themed interface or change things up with Winamp Classic skins. Use the plugins included with Audacious to fetch lyrics for your music, display a VU meter, and more.

  • Fixed files being moved instead of copied when dragged to a file manager (#986)
  • Added keyboard shortcuts for Open/Add Folder (#989)
  • Fixed space being reserved for disabled infobar visualization (#990)
  • Fixed playlist rows sometimes changing height at song change

Qt Winamp Classic interface changes:

  • Enabled window snapping to screen edges (#985)
  • Enabled dragging files from file manager (contributed by GitHub user iDarkTemplar)

Other changes:

  • Fixed warnings when building Audacious with link-time optimizations
  • Fixed stuck startup notification under MATE when Audacious was already running
  • Updated translations
