CoD cheaters are already infiltrating Black Ops Cold War

The infamous CoD cheaters are starting early this year as beta matches for the upcoming shooter are already filled with naughty ne’er-do-wells.

Originally reported by Eurogamer, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War‘s recently released beta across PC and console is currently seeing a plague of cheaters on PC that are bringing hacks into crossplay lobbies.

The MOST blatant and ridiculous aim hack I’ve EVER seen in a video game ? from blackopscoldwar

The most prominent hack that’s currently ruining games is the all-too-familiar aimbot hacks that made CoD multiplayer unplayable on last-gen consoles and PC. However, there are other hacks that CoD cheaters are using as well such as wallhacks.

Players on console are already suggesting that players turn off crossplay to avoid playing against PC players. While CoD hacks may become available on console in the future, the cheater software is already available for purchase on PC.

[PC + SEA] One hour into the beta and I’ve already met a player with soft aimbot and wallhack. I hope Treyarch monitors anticheat closely this time. from blackopscoldwar

Unfortunately, turning off crossplay does mean that console players are tied to their own consoles’ playerbases. PlayStation 4 players will only be matched with other PS4 players, Xbox will only be matched with Xbox.
