Enable SMS Sync between Windows 10 Devices and Skype

We have recently covered some new features in Skype for Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The new update for Skype (Skype Preview) allows you to send and receive SMS and MMS messages directly from a Windows 10 PC if you have Skype for Windows 10 Mobile set as the default messaging app. The feature is found to be particularly useful if you do not have tour phone nearby and so want to send, receive texts, group messages, and photos directly from your computer with a single view of SMS and Skype conversations. To enable SMS Sync between Windows 10 Devices with the Skype, follow this tutorial.

Assuming you have installed Skype Preview, choose to use Skype Preview as the default messaging app on Windows 10 Mobile.

When you do so, you will get the following prompt on your Windows 10 mobile reading, ‘Bring your conversations together’ and below this message, you’ll see an option to ‘Set Skype as Default’ app. Click on that option.

Thereafter, set the limit for how much text history you want to sync with your Windows 10 mobile.

When done, switch back to your Windows 10 PC or tablet and launch the Skype Preview app. Go to the Settings section by clicking on the ‘Settings’ icon scroll down until you find ‘SMS’ option under it.
