Google Photos has introduced a new Memories tab in the app and on the web, along with an all-new Scrapbook view to relive your favorite photos and videos. Available starting today in the U.S., the feature makes it easy to create scrapbook memories or let Google Photos do it for you with a timeline of favorite trips, moments with friends or family, and more.

While some users want to hide or remove Photos memories, others love taking advantage of these fun features. As a result, Google is continuously finding ways to make it better than ever. You can create new scrapbooks, and Google has a nifty new tool that will leverage AI to help users name all the new folders and memory collections.

The Google Photos memories feature is nothing new; users have enjoyed it for years. However, with the latest scrapbook addition, it’s better than ever. Now, it’ll make a collage or scrapbook view of your favorite photos and video, which can be enjoyed similarly to watching a Story on Instagram or Facebook memories. You can easily tap to flip through the photos, save them for later, or scroll through an entire timeline of events.

Another new feature is the ability to set a co-author for specific memories, making it easy to share memories with others. The system is similar to shared albums, where you can invite a friend or family member to join, making it easier to collaborate and fill out a memory with photos and videos from specific events. If you have too many memories, a new AI tool can easily name them, and that’s just one of many new AI tools making its way to Google Photos.

For now, the only way to share one of these new memories is to invite someone to co-author it, who can save it themselves. That said, Google said they’ll add an option to quickly turn these memories into a video soon, which you can share in a text message or on social media.

As long as you have the latest version of the Google Photos app, you’ll see the new “Memories” category at the bottom. So, go ahead and open one up and enjoy the memories, or get creative and make your own.
