Do you find it annoying when Netflix automatically plays a trailer for a show when hovering over a selection? Here’s how to turn it off and browse in peace.
One of the most annoying things about Netflix is the autoplay trailers. When you hover over a selection, a trailer for the show starts playing automatically. It can be quite jarring when the audio for the trailer starts blasting through your speakers.
But now Netflix has finally added the option to turn the annoyance off. Here’s how to do it.
Disable Netflix Autoplay Trailers
To turn off the autoplay trailers you need to launch a browser and log into your Netflix account.
Then choose your profile and then click your profile icon in the upper right corner and select Account.
Next, scroll down to the My Profile section and click on the Playback settings link.
Now on the Playback Settings page just uncheck the “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices” option. After you do that, make sure to also click the Save button. Otherwise, the trailers will still automatically play while your browsing content.
Don’t forget to click the Save button after unchecking the autoplay option.
That’s all there is to it! Now you can browse the content in peace without trailers blaring through your speakers.
If you have always found the autoplay trailers to be the most annoying thing about Netflix, you can finally turn it off. And I for one have been waiting for the ability to turn them off for years.
Also note that when you turn it off here, it will disable the autoplay trailers on all your devices. So, you don’t need to turn it off on each individual device you watch Netflix on.
However, for it to go into effect on certain devices you might need to logout of your account and back in again.
And if you want to enable the feature again for some reason, just go back in and recheck the option.
