Compatibility:
This Lineage OS ROM is based on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and must be flashed only on OnePlus 3. Flashing this ROM on any other device or variant may cause permanent damage or even brick your device. So confirm your device first and then proceed ahead.
Pre-Requisites:
- Ensure to charge your phones battery before initiating the flashing process. There are chances that a lack of battery might increase the interruption risk during the process. At least charge upto 60% before proceeding ahead.
- It is highly recommended to backup your complete phone data and settings including your contacts, messages, call logs, memos, whatsapp messages, installed apps etc. before flashing this ROM. This is important as everything will get wiped at the end of this procedure. You may use any application for taking backup.
- Make sure to enable the USB debugging mode on your One Plus 3. You can do that by following the path Menu->Settings->Developer options ->USB debugging. If you don’t see Developer option then go to Settings->About Phone and tap 7 times on the Build number. This will make the Developer option appear in the Settings menu.
- Also enable OEM unlocking and Advance reboot mode from Developer options.

- (Optional) Temporarily disable all the security related tools as well as antivirus that is installed on your computer. They may interrupt the process.
After doing everything as mentioned in the pre-requisites above, lets proceed to the flashing process of Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Lineage OS ROM.

Step 1: Download both the package files in a specific folder on your computer. Remember not to extract these zip files.
Step 2: Then connect your OnePlus 3 to your computer using original USB data cable. Copy both the zip files on your phones internal memory. After copying both the files safely disconnect your phone from computer.
Step 3: Next you need to boot your OnePlus 3 into TWRP (or CWM) custom recovery mode. There are actually two different methods for doing that. You may use any one of them:
Method 1: Power off your device completely. Then press and hold Volume down key + Power button simultaneously until you land into custom recovery mode.
Method 2: Firstly enable the Developers option in Settings (refer pre-requisites). The go to Settings>Developer options> and enable Advanced Reboot option. After enabling that option, simply press power button to pop up the typical power menu. Then tap on the Reboot option and next select the Recovery mode option. This will directly boot your One Plus 3 into recovery mode without using those key combinations.
Step 4: As soon as you enter into TWRP custom recovery, the first thing you need to do is to take a nandroid backup. This is highly recommended as every single data present on your phone gets wiped out in the last step of this procedure. Also a complete backup can save your phone in case if it gets stuck in the process or is getting boot loops. This nandroid backup takes the backup of your entire operating system along with system data, user data, boot image, installed apps with data, contacts and even the accounts created.

Step 5: After taking Nandroid backup, return to the main menu of recovery and select the Wipe option.
Step 6: On the next screen, tick the dalvik cache, data and cache options and swipe to start the wiping process.
Note: This step will clear all the data present on your internal memory so make sure you’ve backed up everything before implementing this step.
Step 7: After the wiping process completes, again return to main menu and select the Install option. As you click on it, you’ll see all the files and folders present on your phones memory.
Step 8: Just navigate to the Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Lineage OS custom ROM which you’ve copied earlier and select it. On the next screen just swipe to start the actual Android 7.1.1 Nougat custom ROM flashing process.
Step 9: Be patient and wait a few minutes until the flashing process completes successfully. As soon as it completes, a successful message will appear on the screen.
Step 10: Then go back and again wipe the data/cache partitions as you did earlier.
Note: This wiping data/cache step is strongly recommended in order to solve the boot loops issue.
Step 11: In the similar way flash the Google Apps package (containing Play Store, Gmail, Gtalk etc.) as you’ve flashed the Lineage OS ROM.
Note: Do not wipe data/cache after flashing the Google Apps.
Step 12: The flashing process completes here. Now restart your One Plus 3 smartphone by selecting the Reboot>System option present on the recovery mode itself.
Note: This first boot might take more time to start than usual. But don’t worry as after a couple of boots it’ll be normal.
