According to findings by Edge insider @Leopeva64 and in Chromium Gerrit, Google’s popular web browser is set to receive a new feature that automatically activates this mode when switching between tabs or windows. You will be able to regain control over this functionality in the Site settings section of the general settings.

Picture-in-picture (PIP) is a feature that allows you to watch a video in a small window while you use other apps. This is useful for multitasking, such as watching a video while you browse the web or chatting with friends.
If you remember, Microsoft tested an option that could automatically turn on PIP on video sites on Canary, the browser’s experimental channel, back in late March this year in a gradual rollout.
And, earlier this year, Google also introduced an update to its PIP feature, allowing support for arbitrary HTML content rather than just videos. This addition, known as “Document Picture-in-Picture,” was observed in version 111 of Chrome beta. Basically, it enables any web content to appear in a floating window that remains on top of all other open windows.
