One of the strangest Windows 10 devices shown off at CES is the Graalphone, a concept created by a Nice-based French company with the same name.
The device promises to combine a 5 inch Ful HD Qualcomm Octa-core Android phone with 8 GB memory, and 256GB storage with a 7 inch Android tablet and also 7 inch Atom Windows PC with a full keyboard, plus as the 4th component a stereo camera with 5 times optical zoom and a Xenon flash.
While having different processors the Android and Windows sides would share storage, connectivity and the 3000 mAh battery.
The device would retail for between $800 to $1000 and may hit the market at the end of 2017 or early 2018.
Apparently designing the hardware has been the easy bit, and the handset may get thinner in future versions, but the software integration between Android and Windows will apparently need more work.
Serial inventor Raoul Parienti, who created the electric car-sharing scheme used in France, the NFC card that Parisians use to pay their train fares, and more, and who has more than 100 patents, is behind the idea, and is trying to license the concept to some large OEMs.
“Some company like Huawei or like Sony will show interest in this product because there is nothing on the market [like it,]” Parienti is quoted as saying.
