WhatsApp is testing redesigned context menu for Android beta users

WhatsApp is currently working on a new design for its context menu, as reported by WABetaInfo. The redesigned context menu is currently in beta testing and offers a fresh look to WhatsApp’s approach. In the current stable version of WhatsApp, when you tap and hold a message to select it, only a few emoji options for reactions are displayed, while other options like delete and forward are placed on the top toolbar.

However, with the latest WhatsApp version 2.23.11.4, a new context menu for messages has been spotted. The new design resembles the context menu found in the iOS app. It includes options such as Delete, Forward, Reply, and Info in a drop-down list, while emoji reactions still appear on top of the message.

It’s important to note that the new context menu is still under development and is only available to WhatsApp beta testers. This change suggests that WhatsApp aims to achieve design consistency across different operating systems and brings a modern touch to the app’s interface.

In addition to the context menu redesign, WhatsApp is introducing various new features. These include the Chat Lock feature for securing conversations, improved polling, flexible captioning in the latest updates, and multi-device support that allows users to use the same account on up to four phones. Overall, WhatsApp is actively working on enhancing its features and design to provide users with an improved messaging experience.
