Now, in an updated entry on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap site under Feature ID 190937, the Redmond-based tech giant seems to be bringing this capability to Classic Outlook for Windows.
It’s called “Draft by Copilot,” and while we’re still unsure if it’s the same thing as “Sound Like Me,” the premise remains the same. You can draft new messages or replies thanks to Copilot which combines the power of LLMs and Outlook data.
Microsoft says that the worldwide rollout will happen on desktops starting February next year.
Microsoft 365’s general manager, Colette Stallbaumer, also said during the feature’s presentation back in September this year, “The more you work with Copilot, just like you would a colleague, the more natural it becomes.”
Besides, Microsoft will also roll out “Coaching by Copilot,” another AI-powered feature that’s coming out in February next year for Classic Outlook.
You’ve guessed it: Copilot will then act as your personal email “coach, offering tips and suggestions to improve your email communication.” Plus, you can also adjust the tone and length of your message.
