Nintendo Switch Release Games: Will 'Ark: Survival Evolved' Be A Launch Title (Or Come To Console At All)?

ARK: Survival Evolved, a game about dinosaurs and other wackiness, is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Notably missing from that list is a Nintendo platform. You’d think the childlike wackiness of a game that lets you ride dinosaurs might find a home on one of Nintendo’s consoles, right?

Wrong… kind of. In the forums for ARK: Survival Evolved, a community manager posted the results of a lengthy Q&A between players and Studio Wildcard co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz. In response to one fan, Stieglitz stated, “We don’t have any current plans for the Nintendo Switch, though I will be closely watching how that console does in its launch.”

While ARK: Survival Evolved ’s heavy focus on survival, resource management and sandbox may not make it to the Nintendo Switch as a launch title, the dev team doesn’t seem interested in striking out the discussion completely. So will the game come to Nintendo Switch? Maybe, if all goes well for Nintendo.

In the latest ARK: Survival Evolved news, we have an ETA on the Tek Tier release here as well as tips on using the gear and cheats to unlock it, while a recent PS4 update has addressed blue screen and crash issues. Xbox One and PS4 players can also enjoy five new dinos that were recently added: Cnidaria, Troodon, Tusoteuthis, Pegomastax and Therizinosaurus.

As for Nintendo Switch, we’ve got a hint at what the annual fee for Nintendo’s new online service might cost as well as five reasons to pre-order and five reasons not to (iDigitalTimes: Civil War?). While a lot of things are still up in the air about the Nintendo Switch and some functions we take for granted won’t be present, there’s one thing the Nintendo Switch will do, and that’s run The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Sold!
