PlayStation State of Play May 2020: How to watch the Ghost of Tsushima special

Sony Interactive Entertainment regularly hosts State of Play online events to show off the latest gameplay trailers for PS4 and, potentially PS5.

The videos are similar to Nintendo’s long-standing Direct broadcasts, Inside Xbox or Stadia Connect, and sometimes focus on a single game.

This latest one is due tomorrow, Thursday 14 May and will be entirely about Sucker Punch’s forthcoming open world adventure, Ghost of Tsushima.

Here is how and when you can watch it online.

When is the next PlayStation State of Play event?

The online-only video will start at 1pm PT on Thursday 14 May 2020. Here are the times for your region:

  • US West Coast: 1pm PT
  • US East Coast: 4pm ET
  • UK: 9pm BST
  • Central Europe: 10pm CEST

How to watch the PlayStation State of Play video stream

You should be able to watch it here – we’ll add the stream to the top of this page when it is available.

Alternatively, you will also be able to watch it on PlayStation’s channels on Twitch and YouTube.

What to expect during the latest State of Play

While previous State of Play videos have included multiple games, this latest one will last around 18 minutes and be entirely dedicated to the forthcoming game blockbuster title from Infamous developer Sucker Punch: Ghost of Tsushima.

We’ve seen the game a couple of times before, with its most notable showing at E3 2018, but now it is almost ready for release, there will be up-to-date gameplay footage and more on show: “You’ll get an extended look at new gameplay footage, including exploration, combat and more,” it says in the PlayStation Blog.

Ghost of Tsushima will be exclusive to PS4 and released on 17 July.
